Angeli Manus- Angel Hands

£88.00

Angeli Manus is Latin for Angels Hands.

This very special spiritual perfume was created after a visit to the beautiful city of Florence in Italy. I was visiting Italy to further my studies in natural perfumery. One morning I found myself intuitively wandering the streets for Florence. I asked the angels to guide me to for where I needed to go.

I found myself in a the beautiful Santissima Annunziata Basilica.

It was the most magnificent church. At the doorway was a very large candlelight shrine dedicated to the Mother Mary.

As I stepped inside the Church it took my breath away.

It looked nothing like a church from the outside but inside with was divine in all ways.

History tells of a small oratory, back in 1081, built in fulfilment of a vow thanking the Virgin Mary, for saving the city after the siege by Enrico IV. It was eventually abandoned and left in a state of disrepair just outside the city.

In the mid-1200’s a group of seven men know as the Order of Servite, dedicated to serving and honouring the Virgin Mary had taken over the care of the church.

Once I stepped inside I was captivated by the Churches beauty and powerful energy.

It was so potent I couldn’t bring myself to leave.

There was an amazing shrine to the Mother Mary and paintings of angels and antique embellishments that transported me back in time.

I looked up and noticed the ceiling was gold and teal. It was truly a beautiful, sacred space. It was breathtaking. I spent time in meditation, and prayer.

I was in awe of its magnificence and I just sat and took it all in. I lit a candle took some photos and then left, going back into the hustle and bustle of Florence.

When I returned home to Australia I sat down on Saturday afternoon and began the process of developing what would be my first perfume as a trained natural perfumer.

I started with a meditation and was guided to look online for the Church I had visited whilst in Florence. I didn’t actually know the name but I remember I took a photo of the name with the intention of looking it up but never did.

I looked up the name and read the following ....In 1252, the friars decided to beautify the building at Santissima Annunziata with artwork dedicated to the Glorious Virgin during the Annunciation.

According to the legend, the painter Friar Bartolome despaired over details required in painting the face of the Virgin Mary. Distraught that he could not do her justice he finally fell asleep, exhausted from his attempts. He awoke to find that an “angel’s hand” had finished painting the details of her face, and it has since been called the “Miraculous Annunciation.”

Even Michelangelo claimed it a divine piece of work. A miracle.

When I read this I sobbed as I had been guided to this church by my angels hands.

This perfume is to remind us all that angels are always with us and guiding us especially when we despair.

This very special perfume uses carefully selected certified organic and wildcrafted essential oils from distillers that have a passion for what they do.

You can smell it in the quality of the essential oils. The Rose is from Bulgaria from a very special distiller friend.

Of course I used Rose as it is the flower of the Virgin Mary, the Queen of Angels.

I have also used mandarin. I love the citrus of Italy. Mandarin has been cultivated in Italy since the 19th Century and symbolises Italy for me aromatically plus this is where I studied perfume.

Lastly, I used Vetiver. Vetiver is rich, grounding and smokey keeping us planted firmly in our feet so we connect with the higher vibration of the angelic realm. It reminds us to stay present to allow yourself to be grounded and guided as I was in Florence.

The label of the perfume is the gold and teal colours of the ceiling in Santissima Annunziata. When I looked up at the ceiling I felt like I was glancing up into heaven it was so beautiful.

I wanted to recreate this and the ancient feeling of the church. I hope you enjoy my first perfume. This is dedicated to my family, friends, scent sisters, teacher and the angels who continue to guide me and all of us to connect to higher realms for love, light and into the hands of angels.

This perfume is to remind us all that angels are always with us and guiding us especially when we despair.
